ATT ALL MEDIA HOUSES: #NOTINMYNAME GOES TO UNION BUILDINGS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE#Day30OfLockdown

NOT IN  MY NAME SA has been classified as Essential Services for the duration of the lockdown under the category: CARE SERVICES, SOCIAL RELIEF FOR DISTRESSED. The #NOTINMYNAME COVID-19 Food Parcel Drive made its 10th drop-off this week since its launch 7 days ago: we have provided vulnerable and neglected communities with temporary relief to ease the angst generated by the extension of the lockdown.

In our journey to restore pride and dignity in our people, we have learned that the Khoisan people continue to camp on the lawns of the Union Buildings during the nationwide lockdown demanding that the government respond to their demands. The demands of the Khoisan people include being recognised as the first South African nation and for the word ‘coloured’ to be removed from all government documents. They have been there for a total of 15 months and have survived  bitingly cold weather and heavy rains.

Inspired by their conviction and inclination to set the history books straight, #NOTINMYNAME will be going to provide relief in the form of food parcels this morning at 11:00 at the Union Buildings. We encourage those in the area, where feasible, assist the Khoisan people during the lockdown.
